This small pendant consists of a black tourmaline which has been relief carved into a grotesque head and affixed to a flat, oval moonstone. While wearing this item, whenever you take bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage from a nonmagical attack, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage by 1d8.

While holding the pendant, you can use an action to transform into a gargoyle. Your game statistics, including mental ability scores, are replaced by gargoyle statistics. You retain your alignment and personality, but can only speak and understand Terran. You cannot cast spells, but you can use any equipment that requires hands. Any gear you are holding or wearing when you transform melds into your new shape.

The transformation lasts for 1 hour. If you drop to 0 hit points or die while in gargoyle form, you immediately revert to your normal form on 0 hit points, and are both unconscious and unstable.

Once you have transformed using this cameo, you can’t do so again until the next dusk.
